Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of preparing to travel to Syria to engage in terrorism.
The 17-year-olds were detained at their home addresses in Coventry by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit at around 6am today.
The arrests were pre-planned and there was no immediate risk to the public, West Midlands Police said.
The boys are currently in custody in the West Midlands area, the force added.
They have been detained under Pace legislation, giving officers a maximum of 36 hours before charging, releasing, bailing or applying to a court for a warrant of further detention.
