You may not have known that America is currently living under United Nations anti-blasphemy laws sponsored by the Organization of the Islamic Conference. It’s called HCR Resolution 16/18 and it was adopted by the United Nations on March 24, 2011, with Hillary Clinton’s blessings. Why didn’t we hear about this? Because the lame stream media didn’t report on it. It’s official and it all happened without our knowledge.
The full name of the resolution is the “United Nations Human Rights Council Resolution (UNHRC) 16/18 on “Combating Intolerance, Negative Stereotyping and Stigmatization of, and Discrimination, Incitement to Violence and Violence Against, Persons Based on Religion or Belief.”’ Prior to the adoption of the resolution, Hillary Clinton hosted a meeting in Washington, D.C., which included leaders of 26 countries and four international organizations. The meeting took place from December 12-14, 2011, while most Americans were preparing for the holidays.
Hillary stated the following in an obscure “press conference” that few people were informed of. I’m guessing that the press conference was not really a press conference at all, since, on June 25, 2013, there were only 14 Facebook likes and 6 tweets of the link containing her statement.
Clinton stated, “The United States welcomes today’s action by the UN Human Rights Council to further the international community’s efforts to combat religious intolerance. The consensus resolution adopted by the Council today represents a significant step forward in the global dialogue on countering intolerance, discrimination, and violence against persons based upon religion or belief. We appreciate the leadership shown by the Organization of the Islamic Conference and member states on today’s landmark achievement.”
In closing, Secretary Clinton stated, “The United States is hosting this conference because religious freedom and freedom of expression are among our highest values. They are enshrined in our Constitution. For people everywhere, faith and religious practice is a central source of our identity. It provides our lives with meaning and context. It is fundamental to who we are.”
While all of that sounds nice, we must realize that we are not only dealing with the religion of Islam but the political system of Sharia Law, which accompanies that religion. Of great concern is Item 5 on the agenda, which recognizes demands made by the Organization of the Islamic Conference and calls for U.S. government officials to be trained in “effective outreach strategies.”
On June 4, 2013, an event took place in Manchester, TN, titled, “Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society.” It was sponsored by the AMACTN (American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee.) FBI agent Kenneth Moore accompanied U.S. Attorney, Bill Killian, to the event to inform Americans that speaking out against Islam might result in criminal charges. After reading the following subtext of Item 5, this comes as no surprise. It reads, “(f) Adopting measures to criminalize incitement to imminent violence based on religion or belief…”Now it all makes sense.
The following is taken directly from the resolution:
“5. Notes the speech given by Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, EkmeleddinIhsanoglu, at the fifteenth session of the Human Rights Council, and draws on his call on States to take the following actions to foster a domestic environment of religious tolerance, peace and respect, by:
(a) Encouraging the creation of collaborative networks to build mutual understanding, promoting dialogue and inspiring constructive action towards shared policy goals and the pursuit of tangible outcomes, such as servicing projects in the fields of education, health, conflict prevention, employment, integration and media education;
(b) Creating an appropriate mechanism within the government to, inter alia, identify and address potential areas of tension between members of different religious communities, and assisting with conflict prevention and mediation;
(c) Encouraging training of government officials in effective outreach strategies;
(d) Encouraging efforts of leaders to discuss within their communities causes of discrimination and evolving strategies to counter these causes…”
The resolution was adopted by consensus and is considered non-binding. Still, a process has begun called, “The Istanbul Process,” which seeks to implement the resolution. Ambassador at Large for Religious Freedom, Suzan Johnson Cook stated the following at the first meeting of the Istanbul Process: “Resolution 16/18 secured an international consensus around an action-oriented approach to combat religious intolerance in line with respect for universal human rights—including religious freedom and freedom of expression.” Suzan Johnson Cook is an Obama appointee.
Does this mean that the United Nations will finally take a stand to protect Coptic Christians from persecution in Islamic countries? Will Catholic doctors be allowed to abstain from prescribing birth control or abortion pills? It seems unlikely that other religions will be afforded the same “religious freedom” or “freedom of expression” that Muslims will receive, especially with Obama as Commander in Chief.
Johnson Cook went on to say, “The resolution calls on states to take specific measures to combat religious intolerance. The focus of this implementation meeting is identifying best practices on prohibiting discrimination against individuals based on religion or belief, training government officials to avoid discrimination in their official duties, putting enforcement mechanisms in place and engaging with members of religious communities.”
As stated, the resolution is considered “non-binding,” but the “Istanbul Process” continues. Through this process, government officials are instructed in how to be sensitive to Islamic culture and religion.This is a huge victory for the Muslims. Obama and his friends from the OIC continue to nudge America one step closer to Sharia Law by taking away our First Amendment rights of freedom of speech. One wonders how much of our hard earned tax dollars are being spent to implement this resolution. More importantly, why hasn’t America been made aware of the fact that this is even happening?
